Helping the aviation industry reach net zero by 2050

Introduction

In 2020 NATS publicly committed to playing our part in the aviation industry’s roadmap to delivering net zero emissions by 2050.

We’re working with our industry partners through the Sustainable Aviation coalition on our collective operational decarbonisation programme, because we must address the environmental impact of aviation – society demands it.

With sustainable fuels and electric aircraft on a commercial scale still many years away, how we safely manage our airspace and deliver our service will play a crucial role in reducing emissions in the nearer term.
